After spending time apart from loved ones in the last couple of years, that special holiday with friends is long awaited for 2022. Yet sometimes it can be difficult to organise something to suit everyone. Visiting Calvià takes the stress out of planning for a group as there is something for everyone, whether you want to lie by the turquoise sea taking in the scenery or fill your days with fun sporting or cultural activities. The region is home to some of Majorca’s best golden beaches under more than 300 days of sun with a cosmopolitan life on the bay enjoyed at lively beach bars and trendy restaurants. For those who cannot seem to sit still, Calvià’s packed calendar and exciting attractions aim to please, from the Mallorca Live festival in June to thrilling waterparks.
To spend a relaxing time in a luxury setting, visiting Calvià’s harboursides are a must. Port Adriano is a modern port that offers its visitors the opportunity to enjoy exclusive shopping and exquisite gastronomy in a leisurely atmosphere facing the sea. Puerto Portals is one of the most popular and prestigious nautical complexes in the Mediterranean. Active 365 days a year, it has 650 moorings and an exclusive first class commercial and gastronomic area. Become captain for the day and hire a boat or catamaran, taking a trip around Calvià’s scenic coast.
Once the Mediterranean sun has settled down, enjoy a sunset at one of the region’s beach clubs on one of its 34 beaches; the pink and orange skies of Illetes and Costa de la Calma, are two of the most spectacular. After, enjoy a cocktail with dinner, choosing from cuisines to suit every palette.
There is also much to do and see whilst visiting the island, with the region’s events and attractions. The island’s biggest music festival, Mallorca Live, returns for Summer 2022, taking place between 24-26 June at the old Aquapark in Calvià. 2020’s line up saw the likes of Mercury Prize winning Michael Kiwanuka, alongside Miles Kane and Temples play to a crowd of 33,000 music lovers. This year, multi-award winning band Muse will headline the festival alongside Christina Aguilera, Franz Ferdinand and Justice.
In Magaluf, there is much to do for the thrill seekers of the group. Waterparks, such as the famous family-orientated Western Park or the adults-only BH Majorca Waterpark with 9 white-knuckle slides and pool parties, will provide a thrilling and fun day out. For a more chilled atmosphere, Wave House provides cool surfer vibes whilst overlooking beautiful Magaluf beach. Calvià’s Wave House is the first “social experience” hotel in the world and is great for those who want to learn to surf with a flowrider machine, champagne and sushi bar and cool DJ sessions.
Next year’s get together in Calvià is looking to create some fantastic memories to be remembered for years to come.
